Favorite Things I Watched

My favorite topic! If you ever are in need of something to watch, I'm your gal!

I watched a lot of movies and TV this year. Thankfully, I keep everything noted and rated in my IMDB (internet movie database) app. The below is in no particular order.

  • Wicked - This is brand new to the end of 2024 but it's already at the top of my list. As a musical theater fanatic, I was very pleasantly surprised how much I loved the movie musical version!

  • A Good Girl's Guide to Murder (Netflix) - Based on the YA Mystery series (that is also very good) about a teenage girl detective trying to solve the murder of her classmate, the TV adaptation of the first book was really well done! I definitely recommend reading the book first.

  • The Perfect Couple (Netflix)- I'm slowly realizing from this list that most of my favorite things this year are based on books! This was a fun murder-mystery thriller about a wealthy Nantucket family who are all suspected of killing one of their own.

  • Nobody Wants This (Netflix) - My favorite show of the year! When you pair two former teen heart-throbs in a rom-com series where they are dating, magic ensues!

Favorite Things I Read/ Listened to

I have officially reached my goal of reading 20 books this year! If you like reading either twisty thriller books or steamy rom-coms, you will likely find something for you on my top book list!

  • None of This is True by Lisa Jewell - my first 5 star read of 2024. It involves a podcast, a missing woman and so many twists and turns you will be left questioning everything. Is it any of it true?

  • With Love, from Cold World by Alicia Thompson - Alicia Thompson is now one of my favorite authors! I've read her 3 best-selling books and they are all 5 stars, in my opinion! If you love witty dialogue, and swoon-worthy characters, giver her books a try! This one takes place in a winter wonderland theme park set in Florida - the irony is lost on no one!

  • The Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley - Lucy Foley writes great thrillers, but I think this one is my favorite. Think of a Gwyneth Paltrow "goop" influencer-type who hosts a midsummer retreat for the rich and famous, but the location has a dark secret. And like any good murder mystery, not everyone survives!

  • Funny Story by Emily Henry- I just adore all of Emily Henry's books! She really knows how to write great characters. All of her books are 5 stars! This book follows two people who were dumped by their partners, who are now dating each other! These two at least have one thing in common. Even if you know how this book will turn out, it's still super fun to see how it all unfolds.

Favorite Places in Denver in 2024

When you have a chronic illness that makes eating certain foods more difficult (thanks, endo!) you really limit when you go out for fear or how it's going to affect you. But these places were definitely worth checking out and were all 5 stars on Yelp (by Me) in 2024.

I hope you enjoyed this list! If there's anything you think I should read, watch or see in Denver, feel free to message me on IG - @Thelexiconoflife
